Random Groups Creator

What does this do?
This form uses a Dinner group theme, but could be used for any type of groups. Input groups items (could be anything, individuals, families, meals) and creates random groups over several periods (such as weeks, months, etc).

Specifics:
  • Asterisks (***) next to names indicates they are the group lead for party. They should contact the other members of the group to plan the outing.
  • Try to make the minimum number of families divide evenly into the total number of families. For example 5 groups of 4 families will divide evenly for 20 families. This isn't a must but makes the groups have close to the same number of families.
  • Repeat family groupings will be minimized at best. Repeat family groupings will definitely occur if all combinations have been used.
  • Each time you click "GENERATE" you will get different groupings, so if you like what you see then keep results by copy / paste to Email or document.

Volunteers Helping People See Better Around the World

Project 20/20 is a human service program that protects and improves the sight of disadvantaged persons of all faiths in underdeveloped areas of the world where medical care for the poor is very limited. The program provides eyeglasses to medical teams that provide the poor with professional eye care free of charge. This non-profit all-volunteer program is sponsored by the United Methodist Church as a response to people in need regardless of their faith. Project 20/20 is possible because of volunteers and donations from many church denominations, community civic clubs, humanitarian organizations, medical offices, and the Southern College of Optometry.

Egg Rolls

Get the family together and cook some egg rolls. This is a fun yummy thing to do. Over the years we have had friends and family join in the fun. People we give the egg rolls to ask, "When are we going to make some more?!" Everyone loves them!

Ingredients:
  • 2 cabbages (napa)
  • 6 carrots
  • 2 onions
  • celery (3-5 stalks)
  • 6 chicken breasts (large)
  • 12 eggs (2 for egg whites)
  • 2.5 lbs bean sprouts (mung) -purchase day of rolling so it is fresh
  • 1 lb cooked shrimp
  • 48 oz peanut oil (or canola oil)
  • 130 egg roll wrappers (usually come in packs of 32)
  • freezer bags
Steps:
  1. Steam cabbages, chop, drain or squeeze out water with paper towels, and set aside.
  2. Dice onion and celery. Chop carrots in strips. Saute until tender and set aside.
  3. Wash bean sprouts, drain or squeeze out water with paper towels and set aside.
  4. Bake chicken breasts at 400° for 25 minutes and roughly chop into chunks and set aside.
  5. Scramble eggs, and roughly chop into chunks, and set aside.
  6. Roughly chop shrimp into chunks and set aside.
  7. In a bowl, combine chicken with 2/3 of bean sprouts, 2/3 of eggs, and 2/3 of cabbage, onions, celery and carrots.
  8. In another bowl, combine shrimp, remaining bean sprouts, remaining eggs and remaining cabbage, onions, celery and carrots.
  9. Preheat oil in fryer to 350°.
  10. Its time to start rolling the egg rolls:
    • Keep the wrappers refridgerated until time to use, so only get out what you need.
    • Put less than a half cup of filling into each egg roll. This will help stretch the filling out so you can make close to the 130 rolls.
    • Use egg white to "glue" wrappers closed.
    • Roll them as tight as you can and check for openings where the oil might get in. You don't want any oil inside the roll.
  11. Cook in fryer. When done let stand in upright position to let oil drain off roll.
  12. Put egg rolls in freezer bags and store in freezer for enjoyment later.
Notes:
  • Total time to roll and cook egg rolls about 2 hours (1 person cooking, 2-3 people rolling).
  • Share the cost. Add up all the receipts and divide by the number of egg rolls just made. This will be the cost per egg roll. Now each person can pay their fair share for the number of egg rolls they eat or take home.

Bed Bug Spray - Recipe

When traveling you want to do all you can to keep those bed bugs away. Or any other bug, for that matter.

Ingredients and Items Needed:
  • 5 drops Lemongrass oil
  • 5 drops Clove oil
  • 5 drops Thyme oil (If you don\'t have Thyme oil, use Tea Tree oil or Peppermint oil)
  • 5 drops Lavendar oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of Rubbing Alcohol (90%)
  • Distilled Water
  • Small Dark Glass Spray Bottle
Steps:
  1. Put Lemongrass oil, Clove oil, Thyme oil, Lavendar oil and Rubbing Alcohol in Bottle.
  2. Fill Bottle the rest of the way with Distilled Water.
  3. Mix everything in bottle and shake it well.
  4. When you arrive at your room, spray your bed frame, headboard, mattress, and sheets. Spray around the corners and crevices of your bedroom.
